VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
2007 - 2008 SEASON

The Utah Snowmobile Association uses volunteers to run various activities, events, or functions throughout the year. If you would like to sign up as a volunteer contact a board member.  

Activity, Event, or Function Volunteer
   
Executive Ride - Jay Ombach
State Ride -  January 25 - 26, 2008 at Fairview, UT. Sponsored by Skyline Sno-Riders Brian Howarth
Safety Director - promotes safety education, avalanche awareness and act as a liaison with other state associations (particularly Western Chapter).  Promote International Snowmobile Safety Week scheduled for January  
Awards & Recognition - An overall coordinator should appoint a person over: Snowmobiler of the Year, Dealer of the Year, Club of the Year, Youth Snowmobiler of the Year, Scholarship Program, Groomer of the Year, snowmobiler recognition in the Snow Scoop, etc. Bonnie Leach
Charity - A coordinator should develop at least one main charity function and determine any participation in other charity activities.  
ISMA Grant Program - Need a coordinator for the second request for 2005 season.  This Grant should anticipate a project whereby we get $4,000 of funds from ISMA and $4,000 from other sources. The coordinator would need to line up those “other” sources. Curt Kennedy
OHV Advisory Council Representative - attend meetings and act as liaison with Div. Of Parks & Rec. Doug Page
ACSA Raffle Ticket Coordinator - Distribution, communication and collection for ACSA fund-raiser. Jay Ombach
Washington D.C. Fly-in Coordinator - Need a point person that will actually be a participant Curt Kennedy
Recreational Trails Funding Projects - Need a person to come up with recommendations of projects that qualify for funding.  
Wilderness Posting Volunteers - The Forest Service may take us up on our offer to assist in posting wilderness boundaries.  It would likely entail posting at the Mt. Naomi area above Logan and the High Uintas. Monty Breitenbuecher
Trail Signing Standardization - Help develop and coordinate with other states and Div. Of Parks & Rec. a standard signing program.  
Gas Tax Analysis - Need someone to review the State’s new economic study and prepare for a position on the gas tax allocation.  
Grooming Coordinator - Act as a liaison with the Div. Of Parks & Rec. groomers.  
Land Access Coordinator - Political and governmental agency representative on all initiatives, including Forest Plan Revisions and Travel Plan Revisions  Curt Kennedy
 (needs a trainee - Legal background recommended)
Membership Growth - This activity should include developing ideas for membership growth, plus keeping the membership list current. Ken Rossum
Snow Show Coordinator -  Coordinate, through a committee of volunteers, the annual snow show.  Jay Ombach &
Mike Johnson 
Trail Development & Maintenance - Search out opportunities for further development and areas requiring maintenance.  Tom Jensen
Media Relations - Coordinate information to newspapers, magazines and various agencies.  Work on improving the image of snowmobiling. Donna Hayes
Marketing - Develop one USA item (for example a shirt) that would have a very professional logo and market at all possible functions. Bonnie Leach
